    • An authentication device of an access point in a wireless portable internet system and a method thereof are provided to access various packet access routers by performing packet access router coupling a UDP(User Datagram Protocol) with an SCTP(Stream Control Transmission Protocol). A method for authentication of an access point in a wireless portable internet system includes the steps of: performing a mutual authentication by transceiving an authentication related message based on a terminal and RSA(Rivest Shamir Adleman) according to a device authentication request from the terminal(S120,S130); performing user authentication by transceiving the authentication related message based on the terminal and an EAP(Extensible Authentication Protocol) according to the user authentication request of the terminal(S140,S150); and if the device authentication and the user authentication are completed, performing exchange of SA(Security Association) information and authentication algorithm between the terminal and the device by transceiving a security related message with the terminal(S190).

    • A system and method for uplink scheduling of an AP t in a WiBro system are provided to predict that uplink traffic will be generated from an AT, allocate unicast uplink resources, and transmit an uplink traffic or uplink traffic allocation request message without wireless section random access of an AT, thereby solving an RTT(Round Trip Time) increase problem caused by wireless access characteristics of a best effort service and improving speed of a network. A system(210) for uplink scheduling of an AP(Access Point)(200) in a WiBro(Wireless Broadband) system comprises the followings: an uplink traffic generation predictor(211) for predicting uplink traffic generation from an AT(Access Terminal)(100) to the AP(200) after a downlink TCP(transmission control protocol) traffic is provided to the AT(100); and an uplink traffic resource allocator(212) which allocates unicast uplink resources to the AT(100) in a time section, calculated to transmit an uplink traffic or an uplink traffic allocation request message, without using wireless section random access from the AT(100).
