    • PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for detecting the wall of a pipeline using a pulse magnetic field are provided to non-destructively detect the wall of a pipeline without disassembling an insulation material. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for detecting the wall of a pipeline using a pulse magnetic field comprises a magnetization yoke, a coil unit, a power supply unit(20), a magnetic sensor, an amplifying circuit(60), and a signal processing unit(80). The magnetization yoke is separated from a pipeline(1). The coil unit is wound around the magnetization yoke and forms a pulse magnetic field on the pipeline. The power supply unit supplies pulse power to the coil unit. The magnetic sensor generates a measurement signal by detecting the velocity change of the pulse magnetic field. The amplifying circuit amplifies and filters the measurement signal. The signal processing unit processes the amplified and filtered measurement signal to calculate the thickness change of the wall of the pipeline.
