    • An apparatus for managing environments of facilities by using an RFID tag and a wireless sensor node is provided to strengthen the security for environmental information of the facilities by using the RFID tag and a reader. An apparatus for managing environments of facilities using an RFID tag and a wireless sensor node includes an RFID tag(110), a plurality of wireless sensor nodes(120) and an embedded board(130). The RFID tag stores user information for user authentication. The wireless sensor nodes are attached to predetermined positions in the facilities. The wireless sensor nodes collect environmental information including temperature, humidity, pressure, and luminance in the facilities and transmit the collected environmental information. The embedded board displays the environmental information for each facility by collecting the environmental information collected from the wireless sensor nodes and confirms the environmental information of the facilities through user authentication using the RFID tag to control the access to the facilities.

    • A home network system for controlling power consumption of electric appliances is provided to check power consumption of electronic appliances individually through identifications stored in a memory chip-embedded socket, thereby effectively controlling the power consumption of respective electronic appliances. A memory chip-embedded socket(130) is connected to a plug(120) of an electronic appliance(100), wherein the memory chip-embedded socket stores an ID of the electronic appliance in a memory chip thereof. A socket(140) is connected to a power terminal of the memory chip-embedded socket to supply electric power. The socket includes a microcomputer controller and a switching unit. The microcomputer controller transmits identification and power usage data of the electronic appliance, and receives a power control signal. The switching unit switches on or switches off the supply of power according to the power control signal. A home server(160) receives the power usage data of the electronic appliance from the socket through a home network, and transmits the power control signal of the electronic appliance to the socket.
