    • Carbohydrates covalently bonded to a single molecule of cucurbituril derivatives are provided to inhibit biological processes mediated by a specific protein and selectively and efficiently transfer the pharmaceutically active material into a desired cell, so that they are useful for manufacturing carbohydrate chips or protein chips. The carbohydrates covalently bonded to the single molecule A1 or A2 of cucurbituril derivatives represented by the formula(1) are provided, wherein n is an integer from 4 to 20; A1 and A2 are each independently C1-C20 alkenyloxy group, C1-C20 alkynyloxy group, carboxyalkylsulfanyloxy group having C1-C20 alkyl group, carboxyalkyloxy group having C2-C8 alkyl group, aminoalkyloxy group having C2-C8 alkyl group, and hydroxyalkyloxy group having C2-C8 alkyl group; and the site of carbohydrates covalently bonded by the cucurbituril derivatives has the sugar structure represented by the formula(2), wherein m is an integer of 3 or 4, R is hydrogen, hydroxy group, C1-C8 hydroxyalkyl group, alkyloxy group having C1-C8 alkyl group, and R' is C3-C8 alkylthiol, C3-C8 alkylamine, epoxyalkyloxyalkyl having C3-C8 alkyl group, isocyanate having C3-C8 alkyl group, isothiocyanate having C3-C8 alkyl group, and C3-C8 alkylazido.

    • A method for preparing a polymeric ultrathin film through polymerization or copolymerization of cucurbituril derivatives is provided to obtain a polymer ultrathin film useful for an outer wall protective material of a biosubstance or synthetic polymer or a drug carrier. The method for preparing a polymeric ultrathin film comprises the steps of: dissolving a cucurbituril derivative represented by a formula 1 into an organic solvent to produce a cucurbituril solution; and adding a catalyst into the cucurbituril solution and carrying out polymerization to obtain a polymeric ultrathin film containing a polymerizate of the cucurbituril derivative represented by the formula 1. In the formula 1, X is O, S or NH; each of A1 and A2 independently represents OR^1, OR^2, SR^1, SR^2, NHR^1 or NHR^2; each of R^1 and R^2 independently represents a substituted or non-substituted alkenyl of which C1-C20 terminal is an unsaturated bond; and n is an integer of 4-20.
