    • PURPOSE: An apparatus for removing scale on slab in mini-mill process is provided to obtain collision pressure required for removing scale by adjusting injection distance of high pressure water according to pump pressure, prevent surface defects by preventing inflow of scale into rolling mill and reduce surface temperature deviation of the slab. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus(1) for removing scale formed on slab manufactured in the mini-mill process, the apparatus comprises upper and lower transfer means(10) comprising a lower cylinder(12) fixed to both sides of a lower part of the slab, a pinion(14) driven by motor at the side surface of the lower cylinder, and an upper cylinder(18) onto the outer circumference of which rack(16) engaged with the pinion is fixed, and which is vertically guided by the lower cylinder; a body(30) comprising a high pressure water header(32) fixed onto an upper part of the upper cylinder so that high pressure water is supplied to the high pressure water header, high pressure water injection nozzles fixed to the high pressure water header, a high pressure water discharge pipe which is positioned in front of an upper part of the high pressure water header, and a part of the outer circumferential surface of which is opened, and a guiding plate(36) slantly formed at a lower part of the high pressure water discharge pipe to guide injected high pressure water into the high pressure water discharge pipe, wherein the high pressure water header, the high pressure water injection nozzles, the high pressure water discharge pipe and the guiding plate are integrally formed in the body; and pinch rolls(50) elastically installed so that the pinch rolls are closely adhered to the slab with the pinch rolls being arranged in front and rear of the body.
