Small and uniformed spangled hot dipped galvanized iron can be obtained, and spraying of a solution is easily carried out by adding colloidal silica or/and alumina to the aqueous solution or water compared to an existing method for manufacturing hot dipped galvanized iron in which small spangles are obtained by spraying water or phosphate aqueous solution before solidification of the plating layer.

CONSTITUTION: In a method for hot dip galvanizing a steel sheet (1) by passing through inside zinc pot (2) filled in a plating bath (4), the method for hot dip galvanizing the steel sheet (1) comprises the process of plating molten zinc on the steel sheet as micronizing the dross by providing the zinc pot (2) in the plating bath (4) with ultrasonic energy having an oscillation frequency of 15 kHz to 10 MHz so as to promote formation of nuclei but restrain growth of nuclei, wherein the ultrasonic energy is provided in the condition that a size of the dross is a zinc plating thickness or less, and the ultrasonic energy is provided during hot dipped galvanizing from when 1 deg.C or more of temperature is reduced or when a concentration of aluminum solid dissolved in zinc plating pot is increased to 0.01% or more until when an ionic concentration of Fe solid dissolved in the zinc pot becomes a saturated solubility or less.
