    • PURPOSE: A data backup method and system is provided to backup file groups of file systems distributed at a plurality of systems by using a virtually integrated file group without other specific programs. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a server(101), a processed data storage(102), a temporary storage(103) and a data storage(104). The temporary storage(103) receives file data offered by each system(11, 13, 15, 17), and temporarily stores the file data. All the components within the system(10) refers to the file data stored at the temporary storage(103). It is satisfactory for the file data to be offered only once so it can reduce a networking load among the server(10) and each system(11, 13, 15, 17) and enhance a system stability. The temporary storage(103) can be a hard disk drive, a floppy disk drive, a flash memory or a NAS(Network Attached Storage). The processed data storage(102) stores the data to be processed on the file data by the server(101). The processed data includes a file group identifier for storing the processed file data, a file data identifier before processing the file data, and file position data. The data storage(104) is operated like storages(12, 14, 16, 18) of each system(11, 13, 15, 17) and is used as a backup area except for a working area to execute a backup task. The server(101) controls the processed data storage(102) and the temporary storage(103), processed the file data transmitted from each system(11, 13, 15, 17), and stores the processed data at a virtual file group.
