    • A lithium titanate powder, a preparation method thereof, an electrode and a secondary battery including the same are provided to maintain higher electrode density as well as to show high rate characteristics by controlling size and growth of particles. A lithium titanate powder has a particle size ranging from 0.01 to 50 micrometers, a surface pH value ranging from 4 to 10 and an electronic conductivity of 10 mS/cm or more at a pressure of 60 MPa. The lithium titanate powder having controlled particle size is prepared by a method comprising the steps of: a) mixing a lithium(Li) source material with a titanium(Ti) source material appropriately; b) admixing a material containing at least one element selected from the group consisting of B, Sn, S, Be, Ge and Zn to the mixture; and c) firing the admixture to synthesize lithium titanate(Li4Ti5O12). Further, the lithium source material is one or more selected from a group consisting of Li2CO3, LiOH, LiF, Li2SO4, LiNO3 and LiCl.
