    • A method for detecting trimethylamine, a biosensor used in the detection method, and a method for preparing the biosensor are provided to detect harmful trimethylamine quantitatively on the spot. A method for detecting trimethylamine comprises the step of detecting the catalyst current generated by the enzyme/substrate oxidation-reduction reaction between trimethylamine dehydrogenase(TMADH) and a sample at a working electrode where a gold nanoparticle is vapor deposited and an osmium complex PAAMP-Os represented by the formula 1 as an electron transfer medium is fixed, with an electrochemical signal. Preferably the working electrode is a screen printed carbon paste electrode(SPE).
