    • PURPOSE: An optical wavelength switch with plural rotational axes driven by a multi-phase driving voltage is provided to increase the capacity of a switching system including an array of optical wavelength switching devices by rotating a driving layer round the plural rotational axes according to the pattern of a driving to reflect an incident light into multi paths. CONSTITUTION: A driving layer(14) is supported by a switching substrate(10) to be rotated in a predetermined direction and comprises a mirror for reflecting an incident light. A pair of driving electrodes comprises lower-portion and upper-portion driving electrodes. A plurality of the pairs are arranged on the driving layer(14). The driving layer(14) is biased by a predetermined voltage. One of the lower-portion and upper-portion driving electrodes is biased by a driving voltage with a polarity identical to that of the predetermined voltage applied to the driving layer(14). 0V or the opposite polarity applied to the driving layer(14) is supplied to the other electrode.
