    • A signal detection device using improved stack algorithm in a multi-antenna system and a method thereof are provided to realize high performance with low complexity, thereby effectively using a memory by overcoming limitations of memory usage of existing stack algorithm, consequently calculation complexity is effectively reduced. Receiving signals of each antenna and channel information of each user are arranged in maximum size order of the channel information of each user(301). A channel matrix configured by the arranged channel information of each user is decomposed into a unitary matrix and an upper triangular matrix(303). The number of candidate symbol strings is determined by using the decomposed upper triangular matrix(305). Receiving signals of each antenna in proportion to the upper triangular matrix are derived by using the arranged receiving signals of each antenna and the unitary matrix(307,309). A stack structure is expanded for the derived receiving signals, while the determined number of the candidate symbol strings is detected by using improved stack algorithm(311).
