    • PURPOSE: A method for detecting and localizing a transmission error in a moving picture compressing system is provided to inflict limitation on a position having possibility of motion displacement, so as to effectively detect the transmission error and localize a position of the error. CONSTITUTION: An integer-pel motion estimator(100) estimates motion displacement by the unit of integer-pel of an initial frame or a reference frame. A half-pel motion estimator(120) estimates motion displacement by the unit of half-pel. An SAD(Sum of Absolute Difference) storage unit(140) stores current SAD values respectively detected from the integer-pel motion estimator and the half-pel motion estimator. A motion displacement update unit(160) updates the detected motion displacement. And a motion displacement limiting unit(180) inflicts limitation on a position for the motion displacement. For the motion estimation, a point having a minimum SAD value is selected as final motion displacement in 9 search points of the half-pel unit centered on a currently searched pel.

    • 본발명은동영상압축방식에서의전송오류검출및 국소화방법에관한것이다. 일반적으로널리사용되고있는압축된동영상데이터들의표준화된문법검사를통한오류검출기법은불충분하여모든오류를검출해낼 수없다. 또한기존의공간영역에서상관성검사나주파수영역에서의오류검출기법은불완전하며높은복잡도가요구된다. 이에, 본발명은동영상압축방식에적용되는부호기에서움직임변위의위치에대한제한조건을가하는기법에있어서, 화소및 반화소단위로움직임변위의추정을탐색하는단계와; 상기탐색된현재움직임변위의 SAD 값을저장하는단계와; 상기저장된 SAD 값들중에주어진움직임변위의위치제한에만족하는최소의 SAD 값을갖는움직임변위를선택하는단계를포함하는동영상압축방식에서의전송오류검출및 국소화기법을제공한다. 또한, 본발명은동영상압축방식에적용되는복호기에서움직임변위의오류를검출하고국소화하여성능을향상시키는기법에있어서, 상기복호기에서구문법적인오류를검출함과더불어움직임변위들에대한제한조건을부가적으로사용한최초의오류발생위치를검출하는단계와; 상기검출된최초의오류발생위치를기준으로하여현재까지의복호화된블럭들이올바른지의여부를검사하는단계를포함하는동영상압축방식에서의전송오류검출및 국소화기법을제공한다. 따라서, 발명은화질의향상및 연산량의감소에도움을주게된다. 또한, 추가적인정보를전송하거나표준적인구문법을변경하는기법들과는달리표준적인동영상압축표준에서사용될수 있기때문에매우넓은응용에사용될수 있다.
