摘要： A method and an apparatus for authenticating a mobile station having an R-UIM by using a CAVE algorithm is provided to reduce wastes caused by replacement of R-UIM cards. A RAND(Reasonable And Non-Discriminating) necessary for calculation of an authentication parameter is extracted from random values included in a Chap Challenge message. An R-UIM(Removable-User Identity Module) card indicates to calculate an authentication parameter with the RAND and an existing SSD(Shared Secret Data)_A in the R-UIM card. The authentication parameter and identification are disposed in the Chap Response message. The R-UIM card is a single-mode card supporting a CAVE(Cellular Authentication and Voice Encryption) authentication algorithm.

摘要： A method and an apparatus for access authentication in a wireless mobile communication terminal are provided to enable AN-AAA(Access Network Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) to determine a type of a terminal according to an NAI(Network Access Identifier) value, and calculate a result2 by using MD5 or CAVE algorithm according as the terminal is in a single or dual mode, and then compare a result1 with the result2. A method for access authentication in a wireless mobile communication terminal comprises the following steps of: determining a type of a terminal according to parameters of a radius access request message(104); selecting CAVE(Cellular Authentication and Voice Encryption) algorithm or MD5(Message Digest5) algorithm according to the terminal type; calculating an authentication parameter2 by using the selected algorithm(106); comparing the authentication parameter2 with an authentication parameter1 received from the terminal(107); and approving access authentication if the compared result is passed(108).

摘要： CAVE 알고리즘을 이용하여 R-UIM을 구비한 MS를 인증하기 위한 방법 및 장치를 개시한다. 상기 장치의 하드웨어 구조는 CDMA2000/HRPD 듀얼-모드 칩과 CAVE 알고리즘을 지원하는 이용자 식별 모듈(UIM)을 포함한다. 듀얼-모드 단말기는 IMSI 에 의하여 미리 듀얼-모드 단말기의 메모리에 저장된 도메인 이름으로 NAI값을 만든다. 듀얼-모드 단말기는 챕 챌린지 메시지(CHAP Challenge message)에 포함되어 있는 랜덤 값들로부터 인증 파라미터 1의 계산에 필요한 RAND를 추출하고, R-UIM 카드가 RAND와 R-UIM 카드에 존재하는 SSD_A로 인증 파라미터 1을 계산하는 CAVE 알고리즘을 사용하도록 지시하고, 챕 챌린지 메시지의 결과 영역에 의해 인증 파라미터 1을 생성한다. 본 발명을 통하여, R-UIM 카드의 대체로 인한 폐기물들을 피할 수 있다.
