    • A liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to decrease a response time of the LCD device by quickly charging an LCD capacitor to a target value by driving one gate line twice during a single frame. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel(150) includes plural data and gate lines. A timing controller(110) receives first image data in synchronization with a first clock signal and outputs second image data and a control signal in synchronization with a second clock signal. A data driver(120) drives plural data lines in response to the second image data and the control signal. A gate driver(140) sequentially drives the gate lines in response to the second clock signal and the control signal. The gate line is successively driven several times. The timing controller includes a divider circuit, plural line memories, a frame memory, and a control logic. The control logic stores the first image data on one of the line memories in response to the first clock signal. The control logic controls the first image data on the frame memory in response to a third clock signal. The control logic stores the second image data on the line memory in response to the third clock signal. The control logic supplies the second image data to the data driver in response to the second clock signal.

A liquid crystal display panel(300) has pixels(170) defined by crossing of gate lines and data lines. A gray scale voltage generator(800) generates a plurality of gray scale voltages, and has a gray scale voltage generating element interworking with a common voltage by gray scales, wherein a mean of a positive voltage and a negative voltage of one gray scale is displaced according to gray scales. A driving voltage generator(700) generates a gate on voltage. A gate driving unit(400) applies the gate on voltage to the gate lines. A data driving unit(500) receives the gray scale voltage from the gray scale voltage generator for applying a data voltage to the pixels. A signal control unit(600) controls the gate driving unit and the data driving unit.

    • A low power liquid crystal display device is provided to reduce manufacturing cost of the liquid crystal display device by forming a charge-coupling element inside an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel. An LCD panel(440) includes plural gate lines, plural data lines, and plural pixels. The data lines cross the gate lines. The pixels are arranged in a matrix form in a region, which is surrounded with the gate and data lines. A first switching unit(420) supplies an image signal to the data line according to a control signal. A second switching unit(430) is arranged between the data lines and shares the charges, which are accumulated in adjacent data lines according to the control signal. A control signal generator(410) generates a control signal for controlling the first and second switching units.

    • A method of determining a touch position is provided to determine a correct touch position of a touch panel to improve the reliability of a touch panel display device including the touch panel. A touch panel includes first signal lines(GLmin,GLn-1,GLn) arranged in a first direction, second signal lines(DLmin,DLm-1,DLm) arranged in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, and photo-sensing elements respectively disposed at intersections of the first signal lines and the second signal lines. The photo-sensing elements sense external light and output sensor data. The number of photo-sensing elements which output sensor data having gray scales of greater than a threshold value is counted along the first and second signal lines. The point, at which the first signal line having the minimum counted number of photo-sensing elements and the second signal line having the minimum counted number of photo-sensing elements intersects each other, is determined as a touch position of the touch panel.
