A front substrate(201) and a rear substrate(202) are opposite to each other, separated from each other. An anode electrode(208) and a fluorescent substance layer(209) are arranged between the front substrate and the rear substrate. Cathode electrodes(203) and gate electrodes(204) are arranged between the front substrate and the rear substrate. An electron emission layer(205) is arranged to cover partly or whole at least one of the cathode electrodes and the gate electrodes. A secondary electron emission layer(206) is arranged to cover the electron emission layer.

    • An electron emission device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent permeation of electric field of an anode electrode into electric field between a cathode electrode and a gate electrode by using an auxiliary electrode. A first substrate(90) includes an anode electrode(80) and a phosphor layer(70). A second substrate(110) is arranged at a predetermined distance from the first substrate. A gate electrode(140) is disposed on one side of the second substrate. A plurality of insulating layers(130,135) are arranged on the gate electrode in order to expose a part of the gate electrode. A cathode electrode(120) is arranged on the insulating layers. An electron emission layer(150) is disposed on the cathode electrode. An auxiliary electrode(145) is installed on the exposed part of the insulating layer in order to be electrically connected with the gate electrode.

A first dielectric layer covers the address electrode on the first substrate. A main barrier rip(31) on the second dielectric layer forms a discharge cell on a cross region of first and second direction. An auxiliary barrier rip(32) is projected to the discharge cell.
