    • PURPOSE: An engine start safety device for construction equipment is provided to normally drive by operating an auxiliary driving device when a main driving device is malfunctioned. CONSTITUTION: An engine start safety device for construction equipment comprises a main driving switch (30), an auxiliary driving switch (80), a controller (20), a driving unit, a starting motor (40), and a starting controller (110). The main driving switch and the auxiliary driving switch output a signal for determining a driving direction. The controller outputs the signal for determining the driving direction according to the operation of the main driving switch. The driving unit is connected to the main driving switch by the controller and is directly connected to the auxiliary driving switch. The starting motor is driven by driving power receiving from a first starting relay when a key start of a driver is operated. The signal outputted by the auxiliary driving switch is inputted in one side of the starting controller. The starting controller applies the signal to a switching terminal of the first starting relay according to the operation of the key start of the driver so that driving power can be applied to the starting motor. The starting controller stops the starting motor by controlling the first starting relay when the key start is operated in a state where the auxiliary driving switch is operated to a driving position.
