    • PURPOSE: A high pressure nitrocarburizing method of cold press die for automobile parts is provided to substantially reduce time required for forming 0.1 mm of depth of nitride layer, increase 250 Hv or more of surface hardness and improve life time of the die compared to conventional ordinary pressure nitrocarburizing. CONSTITUTION: The high pressure nitrocarburizing method of cold press die for automobile parts is characterized in that carbon steel or alloy steel is nitrocarburized to a temperature of 550 to 590 deg.C for 1 to 3 hours in a mixed gas of ammonia gas, nitrogen gas and carbonic acid gas maintaining a pressure of 5 to 9 kgf/cm¬2 using a pressure resistant nitrocarburizing furnace, wherein the mixed gas comprises 40 wt.% of ammonia gas, 55 wt.% of nitrogen gas and 5 wt.% of carbonic acid gas.
