    • PURPOSE: A metal-containing magnesium oxide powder is provided to ensure particle diameter and crystallinity similar to magnesium oxide powder which does not contain metal, and to enable cathode luminescence within a wavelength area 200~700 nm range excited by electron beams. CONSTITUTION: A metal-containing magnesium oxide powder for a plasma display panel comprises metal element 0.01~5 weight%. The metal element is one or more selected from Na, K, Rb, Cs, Be, Sr, Ba, Y, Al, Gd, Er, Si, Ga, Ti, Zr, V, Ta. A method for manufacturing the metal-containing magnesium oxide powder comprises the steps of: adding 0.01~5 weight% metal element or metal element and halogen element; and performing thermal process at 600~1400 °C in an oxidation atmosphere.

A metal-containing magnesium oxide powder for a plasma display panel includes metal element 0.01~5 weight% and performs cathode luminescence in wavelength area 200~700 nm. The magnesium oxide powder has specific surface area of 0.1~40 m^2/g and particle size of 10 micron or less. A method for manufacturing the metal or halogen element-containing magnesium oxide powder comprises the steps of: adding 0.01~5 weight% of metal element, or metal element and halogen element; and performing heat treatment at 600~1400‹C in an oxidizing atmosphere.

    • A manufacturing method of nano nickel powder using an arc plasma device and a device for manufacturing the same are provided to improve a vapor phase synthesis process for the nano metal powder manufacture.
