    • PURPOSE: A novel coumarin derivative and dye for dye-sensitive solar cells of high efficiency containing the same are provided to ensure excellent photoconversion efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A coumarin derivative is denoted by chemical formula 1, 2, 3, or 4. A method for preparing the coumarin derivative of chemical formula 2 comprises: a step of reacting amino phenol and chloromethyl butane to obtain a compound 1; a step of dissolving the compound 1 in 70ml of methane sulfonic acid and refluxing at 95°C for two hours to prepare a compound 2; a step of dropping phosphorus oxichloride to anhydrous N,N-dimethylformamide under the presence of nitrogen to obtain a compound 3; a step of reacting the compound 3 with thiopene-2-yl-acetonitrile to obtain a compound 4; a step of reacting the compound 4 with N-bromosuccinimide to obtain a compound 5; a step of reacting the compound 5 with 4-formyl phenyl bromonic acid and Pd(PPh_3)_4 to obtain a compound 6; and a step of reacting the compound 6 with cyanoacetic acid to obtain a compound 7.
