    • PURPOSE: An ultrasonic wave probe and a method for manufacturing an ultrasonic wave probe are provided to process a part of ultrasonic wave sending and receiving in a whole vibrator using a plurality of ICs. CONSTITUTION: A first sound matching layer(7) is bonded to the front side of a piezoelectric layer. A second sound matching layer(9) is bonded to the front side of the first sound matching layer. An intermediate layer(13) is bonded to the rear side of the piezoelectric layer. The second sound matching layer, the first sound matching layer, the piezoelectric layer, and an intermediate layer are respectively partitioned into a lattice shape on a XY plane. The piezoelectric layer is composed of a plurality of piezoelectric elements(51) which is partitioned into the lattice shape on the XY plane. The first sound matching layer is composed of a plurality of first acoustic matching elements(71) which is partitioned into the lattice shape on the XY plane. The second sound matching layer is composed of a plurality of second acoustic matching elements(91) which is partitioned into the lattice shape on the XY plane. The intermediate layer is composed of a plurality of middle elements(131) which is partitioned into the lattice shape on the XY plane.

    • An ultrasonic probe is provided to improve the sound delivery property of the ultrasonic probe by preventing a piezoelectric vibrator from being damaged during operation. An ultrasonic probe includes a piezoelectric vibrator(10), a sound matching layer(30), a baking material(40), and a flexible board(50). The piezoelectric vibrator includes first and second electrodes, which are arranged on a rear surface thereof. The sound matching layer is arranged at a front surface of the piezoelectric vibrator. The baking material is arranged at the rear surface of the piezoelectric vibrator. The flexible board is arranged between the piezoelectric vibrator and the baking material and covers the overall rear surface of the piezoelectric vibrator. The flexible board has first and second line layers. The first and second line layers are exposed from a surface, which faces the piezoelectric vibrator. The first and second line layers are electrically connected to the first and second electrodes.

    • PURPOSE: A repolarization system is provided to allow for re-use of ultrasonic probe by repolarizing piezoelectric elements of an ultrasonic imaging device. CONSTITUTION: A repolarization system comprises a plurality of electrodes arranged in an ultrasonic probe(1); a plurality of piezoelectric elements arranged in the ultrasonic probe, wherein each of the piezoelectric elements is connected to a pair of electrodes; a voltage generator for generating a preset voltage which is sufficiently high for repolarizing the piezoelectric elements; a switch for controlling supply of the preset voltage to the electrodes; a connector(57) for connecting the electrodes to the switch through a plurality of lands, wherein each of the lands corresponds to the respective electrode, and is sufficiently insulated from each other so as to prevent a breakdown during repolarization of the piezoelectric elements; an interface for providing instructions; and a controller(55) for controlling the voltage generator to generate a preset voltage and the switch to supply the preset voltage to the electrode, in accordance with the instructions.
