    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axial gap type motor that prevents the circumferential dislocation of the magnet piece storage of a rotor core being constituted by winding a tape-shaped electromagnetic steel plate, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The axial gap motor 10 includes a rotor 11 that rotates around a rotating shaft, and a stator 12 which is counterposed to the rotor 11 from at least one direction of the rotating shaft. The rotor 11 includes a plurality of main magnet parts 41 which are magnetized in the direction of the rotating shaft and are arranged at regular intervals in its circumferential direction, and a rotor core 71 which is constituted by winding the tape-shaped electromagnetic steel plate 60 and has a plurality of yokes 42, a plurality of main magnet storages 72 for severally holding the main magnet parts 41, and spoke housing holes 73 created between the main magnet storages 72 adjoining each other in its circumferential direction. The rotor core 71 has elastic transforming parts 77, which are larger in quantity of elastic transformation than the yokes 42, on both axial sides of each spoke housing hole 73.
