    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric wire with a terminal and a method of manufacturing the same capable of achieving both a good electrical performance and a holding force for a core wire.SOLUTION: An electric wire with a terminal comprises: an electric wire including a core wire; and a terminal pressure-bonded to the core wire exposed from an end part of the electric wire. The terminal has: a bottom plate on which the core wire is mounted; a pair of barrels laterally extended from both side parts of the bottom plate and pressure-bonded to the core wire mounted on the bottom plate so as to be wound around it; and a connector extended from one end part of the bottom plate in its length direction to be connected with a partner side terminal. A connector side in a width direction, of the pair of barrels, is formed to be thick substantially over the whole circumference compared with its opposite side to provide a high compression part to the core wire. An opposite side to the connector in the width direction, of the pair of barrels, is formed to be thin substantially over the whole circumference compared with the connector side to provide a low compression part to the core wire.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the breakage of a cutoff wall or the running-on of a core wire due to the extension of the core wire, and to accurately stick an opening end of a water stop coating to an outer surface of the cutoff wall.SOLUTION: A cutoff wall 30 made by molding synthetic resin material is provided at a linking portion 24 of a female terminal fitting 20. A cylindrical heat shrinkage tube 40 is provided, which sticks to an outer surface of the cutoff wall 30 and an outer surface of a terminal of an insulation coating 12, and covers a core wire 11 over the cutoff wall 30 and the terminal of the insulation coating 12. On a back surface of the cutoff wall 30, a butting plate 32 for butting a tip end of the core wire 11 before press-contacting through a coupling portion 34 which can be elastically contracted is integrally molded. The butting plate 32 permits the tip end of the core wire 11 to move forward while elastically contracting the coupling portion 34 and displacing forward. A separating distance from the back surface of the cutoff wall 30 of the butting plate 32 is set to be a distance with which the tip end of the core wire 11 prevents pressing force from working on the back surface of the cut-off wall 30, when the core wire 11 gets longer from a state that the tip end of the core wire 11 butts on the butting plate 32.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent water from entering an electric wire side.SOLUTION: An electric wire 10 with a terminal fitting is provided with an electric wire 11 in which the outer periphery of a core wire 13 is coated by an insulation coating 14 and a terminal fitting connected to the core wire 13 exposed from the insulation coating 14. The terminal fitting comprises a bottom plate 15 on which the core wire 13 is placed, a wire barrel 17 which protrudes from a side edge of the bottom plate 15 and is pressure-bonded to the core wire 13, and an extended part 19 which extends and is formed in the direction in which the core wire 13 extends from the bottom plate 15 and in which the face of the core wire 13 side is bent and processed into a recessed shape. The extended part 19 has a water stop wall 22 filled in the extended part 19 by molding a synthetic resin material. The area from the water stop wall 22 to the end of the insulation coating 14 is coated by a heat shrinkage tube 24. The inner surface of the heat shrinkage tube 24 is in close contact with the water stop wall 22.
