    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive rice cooker for discharging steam outside a body only during rice cooking when the steam is strongly generated and for retaining warmth without losing steam when generation of the steam becomes weak. SOLUTION: The rice cooker includes: a rice cooker body 1; a lid body 10 covering the upper opening part of the rice cooker body 1; an inner pot 2 stored inside the rice cooker body 1 in an attachable and detachable manner; heating means for heating the inner pot 2; and a steam port unit 20 provided in the lid body 10 and has a steam cylinder for discharging the steam generated while cooking rice from the inner pot 2 to the outside of the cooker body 1. A steam opening/closing mechanism having a steam regulation valve 30 is provided at a steam port 24b on the downstream side of the steam cylinder. The steam regulation valve 30 includes a valve mechanism urged on the side of the steam port 24b. The steam port 24b is opened against urging force of the valve mechanism by steam force when the steam force generated while cooking rice reaches a prescribed value and the steam port 24b is closed by urging force of the valve mechanism when the steam force weakens and becomes lower than the prescribed value.       SOLUTION: The rice cooker includes: the body 4; an inner pot 2 whose top is open; a lid 8 which openably/closably closes the top opening of the inner pot 2; a heat source 3 for heating the inner pot 2; the tank 6 which stores water for collecting the steam generated from inside the inner pot 2 with the steam condensation action; a steam conduit 9 as a steam discharging pathway communicating with the inner space of the inner pot 2; and a control case 11 which houses a power supply substrate inside. The tank 6 is detachably fixed to the body 4 at a position on the opposite side from a hinge mechanism 7 with the inner pot 2 in-between. Further, a through pipe 6e, with one end opening connected to the steam conduit 9 and the other end opening submerged in water at prescribed level stored inside the tank 6, is disposed inside the tank 6.
