    • The present invention relates to a mobility management control node (111, 113) of a mobile communications network (100) and to a method in the mobility management control node (111, 113). According to the method a 5 gateway (105, 106, 117) is allocated to a bearer (110, 118). The method comprises determining an appropriate gateway for the bearer (110, 118) and obtaining load information indicating a current load of the determined appropriate gateway. If the load information indicates that the current load of the determined appropriate gateway is above a predetermined threshold 10 value of the determined appropriate gateway, a gateway out of the determined appropriate gateway and at least one other gateway is selected based on information associated with the bearer. On the other hand, if the load information indicates that the current load of the determined appropriate gateway is below or at the predetermined threshold value, the determined 15 appropriate gateway is selected. The selected gateway is allocated to the bearer (110, 118).

Accordingly, a method in a network node in a wireless communication network for use in paging a UE in a plurality of cells is provided. The method comprises: determining, for the plurality of cells, the number of observations that is made of the UE in each of a number of sets of cells among said plurality of cells; determining a paging sequence for the UE in the plurality of cells based on said determined number of observations in each of said sets of cells; and enabling paging of the UE in the plurality of cells according to the determined paging sequence.

    • A method of allocating user plane nodes to a connection being established across a packet core network is described. The method comprises maintaining at a Domain Name System (DNS) server one or more DNS resource records for each available user plane node in the packet core network, wherein the one or more DNS resource records comprises a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) for each area identity, each area identity represents a group of user plane nodes, associated with a user plane node in the packet core network; processing a connection establishment request originating from a user equipment (UE) to a core network node within the packet core network; sending a DNS query to a DNS server, the query containing at least one criterion for selecting a user plane node; receiving the query at the DNS server and, on the basis of the or each criterion, identifying one or more DNS resource records satisfying the criteria/criterion, and returning the identified DNS resource record(s) to said core network node; and receiving the DNS resource record(s) at the core network node, and using the fully qualified domain names (FQDNs) representing each area identity associated with a user plane node in the packet core network that are contained in the or each DNS resource record(s) when allocating a user plane node to said connection. A core network node arranged to allocate user plane nodes to a connection being established across a packet core network, and an apparatus configured to operate as a Domain Name System (DNS) server are also described.
