摘要： The invention generally concerns inhibition of a molecule that has a role in post- translational modification of a receptor for antiproliferative factor (APF) of bladder epithelial cells, thereby modulating the APF. In particular, inhibition of DHHC2 activity and/or ZDHHC2 expression results in modulation of APF receptor activity, and in specific aspects such modulation is therapeutic and/or preventative for a bladder condition, such as interstitial cystitis. In addition, inhibition of CKAP4 palmitoylation in certain cases also decreases its activity as a tPA receptor on smooth muscle cells or surfactant A on type II pneumocytes, and/or generally inhibits its function as a cell membrane receptor, cell chaperone molecule, and/or membrane trafficking agent.

摘要： An improved foldable card is disclosed. According to the invention, one a single hinge is arranged between a first part and a second part and is extending in a direction having an angle β of approximately 45˚ to a longitudinal direction of said card. This single hinge is foldable for providing single fold of the card. By this folding the USB plug is formed by the first part and the second part together. The thickness of a standard credit card is less than half the width of the USB receptacle gap. Therefore, in order to achieve a solid electrical contact between the electrical contact means of the card and the electrical contact means of a USB receptacle, a force providing arrangement, which includes the single hinge, is arranged for providing a repulsive force between the first part and the second said part when the card is folded. By this repulsive force, the electrical contact means, being arranged essentially in a corner of said card (100) and having an angle of approximately 45˚ to said single hinge (130), is securely forced against corresponding electrical contact means of the USB receptacle when the USB plug is inserted into the USB receptacle.

摘要： An assay system designed to detect a protein biomarker in urine that is diagnostic for interstitial cystitis (IC). The presence of a 9 amino acid glycopeptide, antiproliferative factor (APF), in urine is unique to patients with IC. Urine samples from patients who exhibit symptoms consistent with IC are added to the assay system. Binding of APF to the cytoskeletal associated protein 4 (CKAP4) is positive for the presence of APF in urine and diagnostic for IC. The diagnostic system is a significant and surprising advance in diagnosis of IC and has commercial applications relevant to women and men who suffer from symptoms consistent with IC.
