摘要： Provided is a pointing device that has a simplified configuration and that can be operated in a simple manner. A pointing device according to the present invention has a display device 1 displaying an image and a point indicator device 3 that irradiates the display device 1 with a point indicator light. The display device 1 has a display unit that displays an image using a plurality of pixels, a photodetection unit that detects the point indicator light irradiated onto the display unit to output a detection signal, and a control unit that, based on the detection signal, determines a position at which the point indicator light is irradiated on the display device and determines command content from the point indicator device 3 to the display device 1. The point indicator device 3 has an operation button (command input part) 10 that transmits the command content to the display device 1. The shape of the point indicator light on an illumination surface of the display device 1 changes when the operation button 10 is operated.

摘要： A coordinate sensor (10) includes at least two line sensors (1) that are disposed in x-axis and y-axis directions, and right-angle prisms (2) each of which changes a light path of light that has passed through an image display region of a liquid crystal panel (20). Each of the line sensors (1) is disposed outside the image display region and has a light-receiving surface (1a) parallel to an image display surface of the liquid crystal panel (20). The right angle prisms (2) cause light which travels in the x-axis and y-axis directions and which has passed through the image display region to be guided to the light-receiving surfaces (1a) of the line sensors (1). The coordinate sensor (10) receives the light which has thus passed through the image display region of the liquid crystal panel (20) so as to detect a coordinate, on the image display region, that is indicated by an object to be detected such as a finger. Consequently, a thin coordinate sensor that enables easy alignment with no reduction in aperture ratio and no restriction on operation speed can be realized at low cost.

According to the output characteristics of the laser diode, a bias is applied in the current region (from 0 to Ixm) of approximately 0 in radiation output. The control object period (from Ix to Ixm) is divided into many stages to perform the radiation output control so as to effect the high-precision output control without the provision of a more complicated circuit. The central processing unit outputs the control signal into the duty controlling means, so that the output of the laser diode may be automatically held constant in accordance with the predetermined process or the operation arranged in advance.

摘要： An exhaust gas purification system for internal combustion engines comprising two exhaust gas passages which are substantially equal in length and each of which has a substantially constant cross-section. A thermal reactor communicates with the exhaust gas passages, and a collector is provided on the open ends of the exhaust gas passages. Since the ignition timing of every cylinder is different from each other, the mass of exhaust gases and the mass of secondary air are ejected from the exhaust passages in different phases. The collector is formed to collect and mix the mass of exhaust gases and the mass of secondary air which are ejected from both of the exhaust gas passages at a different time, and has an outlet for discharging the exhaust gases and the secondary air into the chamber of the thermal reactor with mixing thereof. In order to introduce sufficient amounts of secondary air after the mass of exhaust gas has discharged, each exhaust gas passage is formed with a volume equal to a displacement volume of the cylinder of the engine and less than four times the displacement volume thereof, and has a cross-sectional area less than three times the opening area of the exhaust valve.
