    • A display driving device of the present invention includes: a group of source drivers having a bidirectional shift register and made up of a plurality of serially connected source drivers; and a start pulse signal as a single supply line, which is branched into two systems for supplying an externally supplied start pulse signal to each source driver, wherein the two systems of the branched single supply line are respectively connected to input terminals of the start pulse signal of source drivers at the both ends of the group of source drivers, and a transfer direction of the start pulse signal is switched with the single supply line by making one of the two systems of the start pulse signal conductive while making the other non-conductive within the group of source drivers.

    • An active-matrix-type liquid crystal display device is made up of a liquid crystal panel, a gate driver including a switching circuit, a source driver, a control circuit, a power circuit, a counter electrode driving circuit, etc. Upon application of a voltage VDD, the switching circuit outputs to an output circuit a voltage VDD for ON of TFT elements, and a voltage VSS for OFF of the TFT elements. Upon application of a voltage VSS, however, the switching circuit outputs to the output circuit a voltage VDD for ON of the TFT elements, and a voltage of a rectangular wave signal ACK for OFF of the TFT elements. Consequently, the liquid crystal display device, using a single gate driver, can perform driving of gate signal lines in accordance with the structure of the liquid crystal panel (Cs-on-common or Cs-on-gate).

    • A level converting circuit converts the level of an input signal to a positive or a negative level according to a power source voltage for supplying a voltage of a reference level for the input signal. In the level converting circuit, a first transistor has a source supplied with a first voltage, and a drain supplied with a second voltage via a loading circuit. Conduction and cutoff of the first transistor is determined on the basis of the signal level of an input signal supplied via a signal input terminal. The drain voltage is supplied as a signal to an output circuit. The output circuit is supplied via a power source terminal with a third voltage, and via another power source terminal with a fourth voltage. Conduction and cutoff of a transistor of the output circuit is determined on the basis of the signal level of the signal supplied to the output circuit, and the third and fourth voltages are selectively outputted as an output signal of the output circuit.
