    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid generation of environmental pollution caused by discard and to obtain an inexpensive and high performance carbonaceous ceramic adsorption material, a filter medium and to provide a method for its preparation by utilizing press lees of coffee beans which are by-produced when coffee beverages are manufactured and have been discarded at present time as an effective resource.
      SOLUTION: Press less of coffee beans in an amount of 30-70% under highly water-contg. condition generated in the manufacturing process for coffee beverages and 70-30% inorg. binder wherein one or two kinds of kaolinite, hallogsite, montmorillonite and beidellite are main constitutional ingredients are kneaded together and the mixture is granulated into a granular or pellet-like product or the mixture is molded into a molded article with an arbitrary shape and this article is calcined in a range of 400-1,200°C to obtain the objective product.
