摘要： A connector includes: a housing man body including a rib extending frontward; a front holder fitted into the housing main body from the front, and capable of moving from a temporary locking position to a permanent locking position, and the front holder including a through-hole into which the rib is inserted; means for temporarily locking the front holder; and means for permanently locking the front holder. The rib is long enough for a front end of the rib to agree with, or jut out from, a rear end surface of the front holder which is located rearward in an insertion direction of the front holder while the front holder is held in the temporary locking position. The housing main body includes bendable lances for locking their corresponding terminals inserted into the housing main body. The front holder includes lance pressing part restricting the bends of the corresponding bendable lances.

The front holder 20 has lance holding portions 22 which enter the elastic deformation space to prevent elastic deformation of the lances when the front holder is mounted into the connector housing from the front side, and the lance and the lance holding portion have an engagement convex portion 12b and a retaining portion 23, respectively, which can be engaged with each other to prevent forward movement of the front holder and also to transmit a rearward force, applied from the metal terminal to the lance, to the front holder.

摘要： A low insertion force connector which is compact and which is designed so that the cam slider does not protrude from the connector housings when the two connectors are completely engaged with each other. The low insertion force connector includes a first housing, a second housing having a hood, and a slide member. The first housing has first and second cam projection portions which are mounted, respectively, on opposed walls of a housing body. The slide member has a pair of wings extending substantially perpendicularly, each from opposite ends of a flat plate-like base portion. The pair of wings have a first cam groove, for slidably guiding the first cam projection portion, formed on an inner surface of one of the two wings, extending from a side edge of the one wing, and second cam groove, for slidably guiding the second cam projection portion, is formed in an inner surface of the other wing. After the two housings are fitted together, the pair of wings are received in the hood. The two cam projection portions are contractible, and are disposed axially. If the pair of wings are superimposed on each other, a rear end of the first cam groove overlaps a front end of the second cam groove. Thus, when one of the two cam projection portions is slidingly moved, the other cam projection is pushed inward, or retracted into the first housing.

摘要： A connector which can remove the provisionally retained state of a front holder simply and positively. In the connector, a flexible, provisionally-retaining projecting portion (39) is formed in a front holder (4) for retaining a terminal to be inserted into a connector housing (2), a provisionally retaining portion (45) of the provisionally-retaining projecting portion (39) is engageable with a provisionally engaging portion of the connector housing (2), and, in the connector housing (2), there is formed an opening (7a) for insertion of a jig rod (12) while the opening is allowed to communicate with the provisionally-retaining projecting portion (39) in the provisionally retained state of the front holder (4). The opening (7a) is formed in a flexible lock arm (8) so that the opening (7a) can serve also as a lock hole (7) with respect to a mating connector. The end edge of the opening (7a) operates as a leverage fulcrum (13a) with respect to the provisionally-retaining projecting portion (39). In the connector housing (2), there is formed a guide portion (25) for sliding engagement with respect to the provisionally-retaining projecting portion (39) and, in this guide portion, there is formed an opening (25) into which the leading end of a jig rod (12) can be inserted. The front holder (4) is stored into the connector housing (2) while it is held in the provisionally retained state thereof.
