    • A card adapter (10) is configured to receive a first card (20) and to be inserted into a card connector (1) into which a second card may be mated. The card adapter includes a housing having first (120) and second (110) intermateable insulative plate members and a circuit member (130) arranged in the housing. The circuit member includes a plurality of adapter side contact pads (136), each being configured to contact a terminal of the card connector, and a plurality of conductive leads (133), each lead extending between one of the adapter side contact pads and a termination end (134, 135). A plurality of connection terminals (150) are provided with each being interconnected to one of the termination ends of the conductive leads and configured to engage a contact pad (251) of the first card. The first plate member may include a plurality of deformable projections (127) configured to engage a first surface of the circuit member and press the circuit member against the second plate member. The circuit member may have a plurality of through-holes with the terminals having solder tails that extend into the through holes.

    • A card connector (1) is disclosed. The card connector (1) comprises a housing (11), at least one terminal (51), a card guiding mechanism and an identification switch. The housing (11) is configured to accommodate a card adapter (101), in which a first card (201) is fitted, or a second card (301). Each of the at least one terminals (51) is attached to the housing (11). The card guiding mechanism includes an urging member (81). The urging member (81) is configured to urge the card adapter (101) or the second card (301) in a direction opposite to an insertion direction. The card guiding mechanism is configured to hold in a lock position the card adapter (101) or the second card (301) pushed in the insertion direction by way of push operation. The identification switch is formed by a first contact member (52) and a second contact member (53), and is arranged further inward in the insertion direction from an insertion direction front end (301a) of the second card (301) held in the lock position. The identification switch is configured to identify the card adapter (101) and the second card (301). The card adapter (101) has a front projection (103) extending forward from an insertion direction front end (101a). The first contact member (52) is displaced in the thickness direction of the card adapter (101) and comes into contact with the second contact member (53) when abutting against the front projection (103) of the card adapter (101).

    • A card connector has a housing with a base and a side rail extending from the base to define a card-insertion cavity. A plurality of conductive terminals are supported by the housing and extend at least partially into the card-insertion cavity for contacting a card inserted into the card-insertion cavity. A push-push style card locking and ejection mechanism retains the card in the card-insertion cavity upon a first push and which ejects an inserted card upon a second push. The mechanism includes a slide member positioned for slidable movement on the side rail and a biasing member contacting the slide member for selectively exerting an ejection force on the slide member. The slide member includes a slide surface that slides along a guide surface of the side rail. A damping material is interposed between the slide member slide surface and the guide rail guide surface for retarding movement of the slide member on the side rail in response to an ejection force from the biasing member.

    • A card connector is adapted to receive first and second electronic cards, each having a plurality of contact pads. The second card being wider than the first card. The connector includes an insulative housing with a plurality of first and second terminals mounted therein for engaging respective ones of the contact pads of the electronic cards when the cards are inserted into the connector. A cover member is pivotally mounted on the housing to permit movement of the cover member between an open position at which one of said first and second electronic cards may be inserted and a closed position at which the electronic card inserted into the cover is operatively positioned within the connector. The cover member has first and second sets of positioning members configured to position and hold electronic cards exclusively at the desired location for such card and wherein some of the positioning members of the first set also act as positioning members of the second set.

    • A card connector is configured for receiving a generally rectangular card therein. The card has contact pads and generally parallel first and second sides with a cut-away portion formed in the first side in proximity to a front end of the card. The cut-away portion includes a short length extending from the front end generally parallel to the first side, and a tapered shoulder part extending from the short length to the first side. The connector includes an insulative housing with first and second spaced apart sidewalls that define a cavity therein for receiving the card in an insertion direction. A tapered surface is provided adjacent the first sidewall to guide an improperly inserted card at an angle to the insertion direction and a second sidewall recess is formed in the second sidewall to permit entrance of a corner part of such improperly inserted card. A plurality of electrically conductive terminals are mounted in the housing and configured to engage the contact pads of the card upon proper insertion of the card into the housing. A metal shell is also mounted on the housing.

    • A memory card connector has an interior cavity into which a memory card is inserted to a temporary retained position and then to a fully inserted position. The connector includes an insulating housing having a rear terminal-mounting section at a rear of the cavity. A plurality of terminals are mounted on the terminal-mounting section and have contact portions for engaging contacts on the memory card. A slider is movably mounted on the housing and is engageable with the memory card for movement therewith. The slider is slidable along a side wall of the housing. The slider has a projection engageable in a recess in a side of the memory card. A sheet metal shell covers at least a portion of the insulating housing and includes a cover plate overlying at least a portion of the cavity. A side wall plate depends from the cover plate and overlies at least a portion of the side wall of the housing. A spring structure is stamped and formed out of an opening in the side wall plate and is engageable with the slider to bias the projection of the slider into the recess in the memory card. The spring structure is integral with the side wall plate at opposite edges of the opening.

    • A memory card connector includes a housing defining at least part of a card-receiving cavity of the connector and including a bottom wall and a side wall joined to the bottom wall. A slider is movably mounted on the housing and is engageable with the memory card for movement therewith. The slider is slidable along an inside of the side wall of the housing. The slider has a projection engageable in a recess in a side of the memory card. The projection causes the slider to be biased outwardly toward the side wall if the memory card is inserted into the cavity in an incorrect orientation. A slit is formed adjacent a juncture between the bottom wall and the side wall of the housing to allow the side wall to yield in the event that the slider is biased outwardly against the side wall in response to the incorrectly inserted memory card.
