摘要： An optical component is improved in workability during assembly operation thereof and makes it possible to easily position an optical fiber. A first ferrule is press-fitted into one end of a central hole of a connecting member, and a second ferrule is press-fitted into the other end of the central hole of the connecting member. An optical fiber is inserted through the first and second ferrules. A coating which coats an intermediate portion of the optical fiber of an optical fiber cord is accommodated in a communicating portion of the central hole of the connecting member in a manner such that the coating is brought into abutment with the first and second ferrules.

摘要： An optical connector apparatus includes a first connector having a first connecting portion adapted to be connected to and disconnected from a first connecting object in a first direction, a second connector which has a second connecting portion adapted to be connected to a second connection object and which is coupled to the first connector, and an optical fiber connected between the first and the second connectors. The first connector includes a first ferrule having an end portion formed at a position corresponding to the first connecting portion and having a first outer diameter. The second connector includes a second ferrule having an end portion formed at a position corresponding to the second connecting portion and having a second outer diameter greater than the first outer diameter. The optical fiber is coupled to the first and the second ferrules.

摘要： In an optical connector adapter for use in connecting first and second optical connectors to each other, the optical connector adapter includes a shell member which has a wall portion defining an opening and which receives the first optical connector. The opening is received with an insert member adapted to guide the second optical connector. The insert member includes a flange portion extending outward in a radial direction. The flange portion has an extending end face faced to the wall portion, an engaging portion formed on the extending end face, and a slit allowing the engaging portion to be movable away from the wall portion. The wall portion has an engaged portion to be engaged with the engaging portion of the flange portion.

摘要： An adapter for coupling first and second optical fiber connectors having ferrules, respectively, comprises first and second members and a sleeve. The first and the second members can be detachably coupled to each other. The second member holds the sleeve. To prevent one end of the sleeve from being brought into undesirable contact with end surface of the ferrule of the first optical fiber connector when the first member connected with the first optical fiber connector is coupled with the second member, the first member is formed with first and second positioning holes, while the second member is provided with first and second positioning sticks. The first and the second positioning sticks project beyond the end of the sleeve. The first and the second positioning sticks are inserted into the first and the second positioning holes, respectively, while the ferrule of the first optical fiber connector is suitably inserted into the sleeve when the first and the second members are coupled together.

The base shell has a core coupling portion for coupling a core of the optical fiber. The front shell has an opening which is shaped in conformity with a plug shape of the plug-type optical connector. The intermediate shell is partly fitted to the base shell. The intermediate shell has a cylindrical protrusion which is shaped in conformity with the ferrule and which is inserted into the opening.

摘要： A stopper 50 is fixed to an optical connector 10, and the optical connector 10 is accommodated in an opening section 21 of a housing 20. The housing 20 is engaged with the stopper 50 so as to be displaceable with respect to the stopper 50 by a predetermined amount in a direction of inserting the optical connector 10 to a receptacle, and the stopper 50 is biased rearward by a coil spring 40 with respect to the housing 20. The free end of a clip piece 15 is placed on the free end of a latch piece 14 of the optical connector 10, and the free end of the clip piece 15 is placed on an inclination surface 23a at the front end of a concave section 23 formed on an inner wall surface of the opening section 21. At the time of detachment from the receptacle, the housing 20 is displaced in a direction to be pulled out against the biasing force of the coil spring 40. Accordingly, the clip piece 15 and the latch piece 14 are pushed down by the inclination surface 23a to release the lock of the latch piece 14. The detachment from the receptacle can be made in one motion.
