摘要： A slippage detection system for a continuously variable transmission capable of continuously changing a ratio between a speed of rotation of an input member and a speed of rotation of an output member is provided. The slippage detection system calculates a correlation coefficient relating to the input rotation speed and the output rotation speed, based on a plurality of measurement values of the input rotation speed and a plurality of measurement values of the output rotation speed, and determines slippage of the torque transmitting member in the continuously variable transmission based on the calculated correlation coefficient.

摘要： An oil seal member is compressed between a connecting pipe for supplying oil to an oil chamber of a hydraulic servo and the cylinder drum of the hydraulic servo. The cylinder drum has an interior oil chamber and turns through a predetermined angle upon operation of a frictional engagement element by the hydraulic servo. The end of the seal member pressed against the cylindrical drum surrounds an oil hole 73 formed in the cylindrical drum, and oil pressure is supplied to the oil chamber through an oil passage in which the seal member is mounted and through the oil hole. A recess is formed in the outer surface of the cylindrical drum around the oil hole and the end of the seal member is received in the recess. When the cylindrical member turns within the predetermined angular range, the end of the seal member is protected by the recess. As a result, the end of the seal member is not damaged and the integrity of the seal is protected.

摘要： A control apparatus for a vehicle for a continuously variable transmission (CVT) whose speed ratio is continuously variable, the apparatus including a mode selector responsive to a currently required output of an engine, for selecing one of a continuously variable speed mode in which the speed ratio of the CVT is continuously changed, and a stepping shift mode in which the speed ratio is changed in a plurality of steps. The apparatus further includes a first control device operable in the continuously variable speed mode, for continuously changing the speed ratio of the continuously variable transmission so as to operate the engine with minimum fuel consumption, and a second control device operable in the stepping shift mode, for selecting one of a plurality of speed-ratio positions corresponding to the above-indicated plurality of steps, and for maintaining the selected speed-ratio position, based on the detected currently required output of the engine and the detected running speed of the vehicle.

The slip detecting device is provided with a device for detecting a rotational speed of the specific part in a driving system, whereby occurrence of a driving wheel slip is detected based on the speed variation state in the rotational speed such as the gradient of variation in the output shaft rotational speed when shifting. Therefore, a driving wheel slip can be detected at a low cost, regardless of the accelerator pressed condition.

The pressure regulating device regulates the line pressure on the basis of the detected throttle opening angle of the engine when the vehicle is running in a transient state, and on the basis of the detected intake air quantity of the engine when the vehicle is running in a steady state.

摘要： This invention relates to a continuously variable transmission which increases the range of potential transmission ratios and thereby decreases the fuel consumption rate, and which is compact in size and thereby increases space in a passenger compartment. The continuously variable transmission has low and high gear trains and a reverse gear train. Each of the low and high gear trains has a pair of meshed gears and a one-way clutch which controls the direction of transmitting the generated torque. The high gear train further has a clutch which engages at a medium or high vehicle speed and disengages at a low vehicle speed. A jaw clutch is slidably mounted on an output shaft and is located in either a first position or a second position. The jaw clutch forms the low gear train when the jaw clutch is in the first position, and the reverse gear train when the jaw clutch is located on the second position.
