    • The present invention relates to a dual-function surface plasmon resonance biosensor system. The system includes a light source, a polarizer for polarizing light output from the light source, an optical lens system for irradiating the light polarized by the polarizer, a X-Y linear stage having a plurality of protein chips on which the light irradiated by the optical lens system is incident, an optical detector for receiving light reflected from a protein chip and analyzing the received light, an X linear stage having the optical detector disposed thereon and adapted to move the optical detector, and a computer for displaying optical information received from the optical detector. Furthermore, in the case where the system operates in a wavelength interrogation-based SPR sensor mode, the light reflected from the protein chip is spectroscoped and analyzed by the spectrometer and the optical detector via the optical fiber and is displayed on the computer as optical data. Alternatively, in the case where the system operates in a surface plasmon microscope mode, as the X-Y linear stage is moved by given driving means, the irradiated light sequentially scans a protein chip having a plurality of protein spots, the reflected light is measured by the CCD camera and is displayed on a computer as optical data.
