摘要： A bifurcated fiber optic probe system (100) is provided that is designed for low internal reflection and efficient light gathering. The system combines a geometrically arranged fiber optic bundle (150) coupled to, or in proximity with, a spherical lens (120) of defined aperture centrally aligned within the probe. The system accommodates spectral acquisition and analysis of samples using various types of spectroscopy by targeting a ratio of captured light to internal reflectance for every sample observed by the probe. The geometry of the fiber optic probe and its relation to the spherical lens (120) helps to achieve the desired ratio.
