摘要： An electronic Personal Information Manager (PIM) including a calendar/scheduling system with an EarthTime.TM. module is described. In operation, the system tracks different types of times: "local" time, "home" time, and "remote" time. Home time is the time zone of where the user typically spends most of his or her time; this is usually the time zone for the user's home office. Local time is the time for the locality where the user is located physically at any particular instance in time. "Remote" time represents the time zones of the other individuals (i.e., other than the user). The system may show events and appointments in the user's own "local" time (or other user-selected type of time), regardless of where the user is presently located. Using these three types of time (i.e., "local" time, "home" time, and "remote" time), the system provides improved interface and methods for scheduling and managing activities, such a phone conference, across multiple time zones.

摘要： A method for purifying hemoglobin, mixed with other proteins is described, wherein the mixture is contacted with an ion exchange matrix so that the hemoglobin is adsorbed to it. The matrix is washed to remove unadsorbed components, and the hemoglobin is then selectively eluted using a ligand which specifically binds the hemoglobin causing it to desorb from the matrix. The method can also be used to effect reduction of methemoglobin to hemoglobin on an ion exchange matrix followed by selective elution to achieve purification. The method can also be used to purify methemoglobin.

The invention may include a server configured to create a viewer package containing data and viewer code that allows a client computer to read data within the viewer package. The viewer code provides a client computer with the ability to perform functions that are as robust and as useful to common functions of a database for viewing, consuming and manipulating data. The data to be accessed may be formatted in one or more universal formats so that a user opening the viewer package can access the data, independent of the medium onto which it is received.
