摘要： The present invention provides supramolecular hydrogels having a three-dimensional, self- assembling, elastic, network structure comprising non-polymeric, functional molecules and a liquid medium, whereby the functional molecules are noncovalently crosslinked. The present invention also provides methods of making supramolecular hydrogels that show biostability. The functional molecules may be antibiotics, carbohydrates, aminosugars, small peptides, a- amino acids, ß-amino acids, unnatural amino acids, halogenated amino acids, or a combination thereof. Applications of the present invention include use of the supramolecular hydrogel as a biomaterial for wound healing, drug delivery, enzymatic reactions, enzyme detection and identification of enzyme inhibitors.

摘要： The present invention pertains to the design and application of a supramolecular hydrogel having a three-dimensional, selfassembling, elastic, network structure comprising non-polymeric, functional molecules and a liquid medium, whereby the functional molecules are noncovalently crosslinked. The functional molecules may be, for instance, anti-inflammatory molecules, antibiotics, metal chelators, anticancer agents, small peptides, surface-modified nanoparticles, or a combination thereof. The design of the hydrogel includes: 1) modifying functional molecules to convert them into hydrogelators while enhancing or maintaining their therapeutic properties and 2) triggering -the hydrogelation process by physical, chemical, or enzymatic processes, thereby resulting in the creation of a supramolecular hydrogel via formation of non-covalent crosslinks by the functional molecules. Applications of the present invention include use of the supramolecular hydrogel, for instance, as a biomaterial for wound healing, tissue engineering, drug delivery, and drug/inhibitor screening.

A flag extension is formed in the substrate and extends laterally outward from the lead body longitudinal axis. A method for forming a cochlear lead with a flag extension is also provided.

摘要： Disclosed is a general methodology to create nano fibers of therapeutic molecules that have a dual role, as both the delivery vehicle and the drug itself. It is shown that with proper molecular design, the integration of enzymatic reaction and self-assembly provides a powerful method to create molecular hydrogels of clinically-used therapeutics without compromising their bioactivities. In addition, the results disclosed herein demonstrate enzyme-instructed self-assembly as a facile strategy for generating the supramolecular hydrogels of molecules that inherently have poor solubility in water. For example, by covalently connecting paclitaxel with a motif that is prone to self-assemble, a hydrogel of paclitaxel can be formed without compromising the activity of the paclitaxel.
