摘要： A resource allocation method in a multicarrier communication system where a base station allocates resources to a plurality of mobile stations according to feedback channel information from the mobile stations. The base station receives a resource request message from each mobile station and selects a set of mobile stations offering a maximum system gain without overlapped resources at a specific point in time based on the resource request messages from all mobile stations in the system. The requested resources and then allocated to the selected mobile stations.

摘要： An apparatus and method for adaptively allocating subchannels according to frequency reuse rates in an OFDMA system are provided. To allocate one or more subchannels to one or more MSs, information related to an optimum FRF and a modulation scheme is received from the plurality of MSs, the number of subchannels required for each FRF is calculated according to the received information, subchannels are allocated to the BS for each FRF, based on the calculated subchannel numbers from the BS and neighboring BSs, and the allocated subchannels are allocated to the MSs.

A Base Station (BS) allocates resources to a Mobile Station (MS) by resource allocation information. It is determined whether the MS requires continuous resource allocation or whether the MS does not have transmission data temporarily, when a resource allocation duration for downlink resources allocated to the MS has expired. One of resource allocation termination, resource allocation renewal, and temporary resource lending to another MS is performed according to the determination. Information for updating the resource allocation information is transmitted to the MS.

摘要： Provided is a connection identification (CID) allocating method in a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) communication system having a medium access control protocol data unit (MAC PDU) format with a header field including control information and a payload field including user data. The header field has a first CID field of a first length indicating a CID of a mobile subscriber station (MSS), a second CID field of a second length and indicating the CID of the MSS by being concatenated with a CID of the first CID field, and a type field indicating whether the second CID field is used. The method includes determining a CID to be allocated to a particular MSS; and if the length of the determined CID is equal to the first length, including the determined CID in the first CID field, including, in the type field, information indicating that the second CID field is not used, and transmitting the MAC PDU to the MSS.

摘要： An uplink resource allocation method is provided for transmitting a control packet on a channel different from a currently connected channel in a wireless communication system for supporting a packet based real-time service. A new format of a grant management subheader is proposed in which a piggyback request conventionally used only for the same connection can be used also for a different connection. A resource allocation request for the different connection can be made using the newly proposed grant management subheader. When the resource allocation request for a new connection is made using the grant management subheader, a resource allocation time can be reduced and loss of resources allocated for an existing connection can be minimized.
