[Classes 51 (i) and 51 (ii)] In a gas-producer the escape of gas and fumes from the poker or charging holes during cleaning or charging is prevented by a screen of gaseous fluid which is delivered across the poking or charging hole, the means comprising a self contained unit which may be temporarily arranged on the producer. As shown in Fig. 1, a bell 1 is provided with a poker hole or charging opening 3 at the top and with an annular chamber 4 supplied with compressed air delivered through apertures 7 below the opening 3. An apertured baffle plate 6 is arranged beneath the apertures 7. Fig. 3 shows a modification in which an apertured ring 9 supplied with compressed air is welded to a ring 10 in turn welded to the top of the bell 1 and the screen of compressed air is delivered through apertures 11 beneath the opening 3. A flat or conical baffle 13 is welded to the bell beneath the ring 9. The apertures 7 or 11 may be arranged so as to deliver the air in intersecting streams or so as to produce spin or eddy in the gaseous medium.

[Class 40 (iv).] A microphone, more particularly for use as a telephone transmitter, comprises a magnet constituting the fixed electrode, a movable electrode, a diaphragm, a magnetic element on the movable electrode contacting the diaphragm and a mass of carbon coated magnetic particles interposed between the fixed and movable electrodes. As shown, the microphone comprises a casing 3 closed at its front by a cap 2 and carrying at its rear a permanent or electromagnet 9 the forward end of which is surrounded by an insulating sleeve 11. The movable electrode 12 of magnetic material has a cylindrical portion 13 slidingly fitting in the sleeve 11 and a flange 14 between which and the sleeve is arranged a helical spring 18 which serves to hold a magnetic ball 17 in contact with the diaphragm 5. Carbon discs 15 are carried by the opposed ends of the magnet and cylinder 13 and between these discs and within the sleeve 11 are arranged the carbon coated magnetic particles 16. The magnetic particles are preferably initially electroplated with silver before being coated with carbon. The periphery of the diaphragm is surrounded by a soft rubber band 6 and is clamped in the cap 2 by a lock ring 4. In order to provide a substantially closed magnetic circuit, the metal parts with the possible exception of the spring 18 may be made of magnetic material. Alternatively, the diaphragm and, if desired, the other metal parts excepting the magnet and ball 17 may be made of aluminium.

摘要： A vending machine includes first and second integrated dispensing systems mounted at front portions of adjacent product shelf dividers establishing at least first, second and third product queues. Each of the first and second dispensing systems includes first and second release mechanisms having a plurality of hinged plates supported by a frame. The plurality of hinged plates are selectively shifted into and out of corresponding ones of the first, second and third product queues, such that each product queue has associated therewith two opposing release mechanisms. Preferably, at least one of the first and second release mechanisms for each dispensing system includes a queue spacing member which is mounted to one of the hinged plates and projects into the product queue to establish a desired spacing between the release mechanisms.

摘要： A product delivery system for a vending machine includes first and second guide rails and a carriage rail. The guide rails are fixedly mounted in the vending machine spaced from and parallel to each other and extend along respective first and second axes. The carriage rail extends along a third axis and includes first and second ends that are slidably connected to the respective ones of the first and second guide rails. A carrier member is slidably mounted to the carriage rail for movement along the third axis. A first drive belt is coupled to the carriage rail and a first drive motor to selectively shift the carrier member along the third axis. A second drive belt, extending in multiple axes, is connected to each of the first and second ends of the carriage rail and a second drive motor. The second drive motor selectively shifts the carriage rail along the first and second axes upon driving the second drive belt.
