[Class 38 (i)] A holder for double-ended electric lamps, comprises a moulded insulating body 10 recessed at 15 to house resilient strip contacts 13 and having a central bore 14 and a radial slot 17 extending from the periphery of the body to the recess. A spigot member 11, slotted at 22, has a chamfered flange 23 at its rear end bearing on the chamfered rear edge 18 of the bore 14 so as to be rotatable therein, the spigot being supported in the holder by a closure plate 12 secured thereto so as to bear against the front face of the holder and comprising two semicircular halves spaced apart so as to leave a slot 28 between them. Each contact 13 has a pin-engaging recess 29, engaged in the " off " position by projections 25 on the spigot in which position the slots 17, 22 28 are aligned to receive the pins of a lamp which is then rotated through 90 degrees to bring slots 22, 28 at right angles to the slot 17 thereby retaining the lamp pins in the holder. According to the Provisional Specification, the cover 12 may have a knurled flange fitting over the sides of the body which may also carry a mounting bracket into which the contacts may extend and be fitted with terminals. A single bracket may carry two or more holders.

[Class 59] Coal &c. is broken against horizontal picks by the action of a pusher or breaker plate mounted for movement in a substantially vertical plane and about an axis disposed midway of the height of the plate. A combined screen and pick-cleaner is attached to the plate and oscillates between the picks. The picks 3 are mounted in a plate 4 adjustably mounted in the casing 5. A reciprocating plate 7, which may be provided with a row of picks 17 is suspended from a pivot 11 on the casing by link 10 and is oscillated by an eccentric 8. A series of bars 12 are pivoted to the casing at 14 and reciprocate between the picks by means of a series of bars 16 connected to the lower end of the plate 7. The bars 12 clear the picks from obstructions and form with the bars 16 a screen through which the small coal passes without further crushing. The plate 7 may slide on rollers or cam surfaces or may be pivoted about an axis near the pivot 11 of the link 10. The plate 7 may also be reciprocated by a connecting rod and spring and the drive pulley may be fitted with shear pins.

    • A light emitting diode (LED) display, including: drive circuitry; a control processor; a frame including two edges; multiple cables extending rigidly between the two edges of the frame; and at least one pixel module coupled to each cable. Each cable includes a power wire coupled to the drive circuitry, a ground wire, and at least one data bus wire coupled to the control circuitry. Each pixel module includes: a power electrode coupled to the power wire of the coupled cable; a ground electrode coupled to the ground wire of the coupled cable; a bus electrode coupled to the data bus wire of the coupled cable; an LED light source; and pixel control circuitry coupled to the electrodes and the LED light source. The pixel control circuitry is adapted to drive the LED light source with a drive current based on a control signal received from bus electrode.

    • Motor control systems having solid-state components are commonly used on industrial vehicles such as lift trucks. Such solid-state components are easily damaged by excessive transient voltages. The subject invention includes a power supply for supplying direct current to a motor circuit, wherein the direct current has a nominal direct current voltage value and as associated transient voltage component. A pulse control circuit supplies current pulses from the power supply to a motor. A sensing device controllably produces a fault signal in response to the amplitude and frequency of occurrence of the transient voltage component exceeding a predetermined maximum value. An override circuit receives the fault signal and responsively modifies the current pulses delivered from the power supply to the associated motor.
