Discharging .-The discharge of coke from coke ovens is facilitated by the provision, within the oven adjacent one or more walls, of a member which is inclined with respect to the wall so that on imparting movement to one end it may be withdrawn from contact with the charge. Fig. 1 shows a coke oven in which the coking chambers a, separated by heating walls s, are each fitted with a wedge-shaped plate b adapted to be raised, at the end of the coking operation, by hand-operated hoisting-gear d - - i. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, plates b are normally disposed in an inclined position with respect to the side walls of the oven chambers, mechanism m - - - being provided for moving their upper ends backwards away from the coke face immediately prior to discharge. Base plates j are provided to maintain the lower edges of the plates b in contact with the oven walls.

摘要： A telephone central office switch (103) provides Centrex features, including intercom dialing, on central-office-to-PBX (133, 134) trunks (123, 124) by using the 4-wire subscriber feature of the Lucent Technologies 5ESS.RTM. switch to administer trunk ports (113-114) that serve the central-office-to-PBX trunks as 4-wire telephone lines and then further administering those trunk ports for Centrex features. Those trunk ports, and optionally also some line ports (115-116), may be administratively assigned the private network numbering plan of respective PBXs so as to enable intercom dialing among those trunk ports, and between those trunk ports and the optional line ports.

摘要： A compact circular magnetic induction accelerator (betatron) for use as a borehole gamma ray source includes a field magnet and generally circular pole pieces composed of a class of ferrite having the general formula M.sup.2+ Fe.sub.2.sup.3+ O.sub.4, where M represents two or more divalent metal ions from the group consisting of Mn, Zn and Ni. The core magnet is in the form of two symmetrical closed loops, with one leg of each loop passing axially through the circular pole pieces. The field coil and the core coil may be arranged in series or in parallel, and switching circuits are provided for effecting electron beam capture and ejection. In an illustrative borehole application, the betatron is used as a gamma ray source in a bulk density logging tool.
