    • A modular jack (100) is adapted for mounting on a printed circuit board (6) and has a housing (1) and a plurality of terminals (5) received in the housing. The housing includes a main body (4), an insert module (2), and a presser (3). The main body defines a cavity (40), a pair of grooves (41), and a pair of slots (42). The main body includes a pair of side walls (43). A pair of engaging ribs (44) outwardly project from each side wall and parallel to each other, thereby forming a mounting channel (46) for engaging the printed circuit board between the engaging ribs. As a result, the modular jack is mounted on the printed circuit board. The insert module has a pair of lead sections (21) slidably received in the grooves and a pair of guide sections (20). The presser has a pair of channels (30) slidably receiving the guide sections of the insert module and a pair of latches (33) reliably engaging with the slots of the main body. The presser further has a pair of blocks (31) abutting against bottom edges of the guide sections.

    • An electrical connector (1) includes an insulative housing (10) having a rectangular mating portion (101). The mating portion has a receptacle (131) and an island (142) projecting from a middle of the receptacle. The receptacle has a generally rectangular cross-section defining opposite first and second sides running longitudinally along the housing. The receptacle has a pair of flattened corners (132) on the second side thereof so that the receptacle is in fact a polarizing hexagonal receptacle for allowing a complementary connector to insert therein only in a given orientation.

    • A shielded connector assembly comprises an insulative housing retaining a plurality of contacts therein, a contact spacer and an outer shell. The housing forms a pair of flexible hooks on each of opposite upper and lower sides thereof. Each flexible hook extends in a direction parallel to the direction of assembly in which the shell engages with the housing. The shell defines a pair of engaging openings in each longitudinal side thereof corresponding to the flexible hooks of the housing. When the shell is assembled to the housing, the engaging openings of the shell come into engagement with the corresponding flexible hooks of the housing in the mating direction. Thus, the shell firmly engages with the housing without an outward deflection thereof due to the flexibility of the flexible hooks of the housing.

    • A plug connector (1) includes an insulative housing (2), a center contact (3), an inner contact (4) and an outer contact (5). The housing defines a cutout (23) at a rear end thereof. The center contact has a U shaped tail portion (32) at a rear end thereof, a mating portion (35) for electrically engaging with a complementary connector and an intermediate portion (31) embedded in the housing and connecting the tail portion and the mating portion.
