During manufacture, paper bags are guided horizontally through the machine by a conveyor forming part of the machine. With this arrangement, one of the suction wheels is placed under the bag, and the other wheel is placed over the bag in line. As each bag is moved by the conveyor, both suction wheels are brought into motion like a rolling operation. Each wheel has a shaft with a hollow channel going to a suction cup at the periphery of the wheel. The number of suction cups around the circumference of the wheel could be any amount. In a preferred embodiment, there are 12 equally spaced suction cups. A vacuum pump with a hose is connected onto the shaft. The pump draws air through the channel which comes from a suction cup so that, when the bag comes into the vicinity of the suction cup, the cup sticks on the bag layer. Because the bag is moving, the suction cup travels with the bag in the same direction. This action takes place simultaneously with both wheels. By doing so, the two layers of the bag cling to the suction cups. By making a radius, up and down, the bag opens.

    • Zur Überprüfung der Funktionsfähigkeit der mit Kühlluftzuführungs- und Kühlluftabführungsleitungen versehenen Kühlabschnitte einer Breitschlitzdüse (10) eines Extruders zur Herstellung von Flachfolien aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff werden die Kühlluftzuführungsleitungen (9) durch von einer elektronischen Recheneinheit (1) gesteuerte Magnetventile (2) bedarfsweise mit einer zentralen unter Überdruck stehenden Kühlluftspeiseleitung (4) verbunden. Um eine einfache und zuverlässig Überprüfung zu schaffen, wird aufgrund eines Prüfprogramms die Kühlluftspeiseleitung (11) vor den zu den einzelnen Magnetventilen (2) führenden Zweigleitungen bei geschlossenen Magnetventilen (2) durch ein Absperrventil (5) geschlossen. Sodann wird durch einen in der Kühlluftspeiseleitung hinter dem Absperrventil befindlichen Druckfühler (6) der Druck und der Druckabfall in der Kühlluftspeiseleitung (4) gemessen, der sich bei der Öffnung des Magnetventils (2) des ersten zu prüfenden Kühlabschnitts ergibt. Dabei wird ein Fehlersignal erzeugt, wenn der Druck und der gemessene Druckabfall nicht den typischen Werten für die ordnungsgemäßen Funktionen der Kühlluftspeiseleitung und des geprüften Kühlabschnitts entsprechen. Nachfolgend werden sämtliche Kühlabschnitte in entsprechender Weise geprüft.
