Drilling-machines; tapping.- In a multiple-spindle machine for tapping, drilling, or similarly treating nut or other blanks of the type in which an intermittently-rotated blank-holder brings the blank opposite the tool, and in which the tool has a long shank to receive the finished articles, the forward movement of the turret workholder advances the blanks on to the tool and displaces a feedconduit towards a fixed part to feed the blanks to the workholder. In the form shown, two caps D are mounted in split chucks B operated by the usual grip and release mechanism controlled by a lever B and rotated by a belt and gearing connecting the two spindles. A work-holder E, which may be provided with three or more series of holes of different sizes to suit the size of blank, is adjustable ruund its spindle E and clamped in position by a nut, the position being determined by holes in the holder engaging pins in the spindle E . The blanks abut against screw stops E and are also held in the work-holder by spring-pressed balls. The workholder is moved towards the tools by a handle F through a rack and pinion, and the spindle is rotated by a .pin E on the support E engaging V-grooves in the spindle. Two V-grooves are provided so that the work-holder rotates in the same direction in either direction of traverse of the work-holder Straight grooves e are used for guiding the work-holder during the cutting operation. Two feed chutes H with openings H for the removal of the blanks are mounted on a slide H pressed by a spring against the workholder, and when the latter is fed forward blanks are pressed into the work-holder, while other blanks are being cut, by fixed stops. When the workholder abuts the plate G', the blanks are drawn from it and are guided over the tool by suitably shaped removable abutments and received on the tool spindle. By turning the handle F the workholder is withdrawn and partially rotated, and then fed forward again. The stops may be moved instead of the conduits.

摘要： A joining arrangement is provided for use in the construction of stud frame which includes a releasable attachment/detachment feature. The first member (plate) includes in at least one side wall a formation which, when members are joined, engages a corresponding formation in at least one wall of the second member (stud). The formation, such as a V-shaped protrusion, is/are disposed at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the member and the formation on the second member is disposed generally parallel to its longitudinal axis such that upon engagement of the first and second members, the respective formations in the first and second members engage such that they are in alignment, thereby, securing the first member to the second. Additionally, a plurality of protrusions, which provide a gripping feature, may be formed on the upper surface of web for inhibiting the stud from sliding, slipping, moving and/or migrating within the plate.

An overlapping section of the telescoping portion has a recess to allow dry wall to be fastened to the stationary portion at the overlapping section without being attached to the telescoping portion. The fastener pierces through the drywall and a sidewall of the stationary portion. However, a tip of the fastener does not engage a sidewall of the telescoping portion. Rather, the tip of the fastener stops within the recess of the telescoping portion.
