摘要： 277,487. Holroyd, W. Sept. 8, 1926. Stop-gear.-In a gear wherein a stop valve is closed by a spiral spring upon releasing a pawl on closing an electric circuit by hand at a distance, two handwheels are provided whereby the spring may be rewound by the wheel operating the valve or independently thereof by the other wheel. The valve wheel a is mounted on the screwed valve spindle 6. The spring-winding wheel b is mounted upon a sleeve 2 surrounding the valve spindle and is formed in one with a ratchet wheel 7 secured to the spring at one end thereof, the other end of the spring being secured to an enclosing-casing 9, the teeth 7 of which wheel are engaged by a pawl 8 which has handreleasing mechanism 8 and is operable by a spindle 10 which engages a cam or eccentric 10 when the electric circuit is broken. A handoperated, rotatable, spring-pressed key 4 is mounted in the sleeve 2 and engages a slot in spindle 6. When the key 4 engages the slot 5, rotation of the wheel a winds the spring. Disengaging the key 4 enables the spring to be further wound if necessary. The wheels a, b are secured to the parts 6, 2 respectively by spring-pressed bolts a , b .
