    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery having high energy density. SOLUTION: Casings 12, 14 which constitute anode partitioned chambers and liquid electrolyte for storing anode alkali metal and liquid electrolyte, respectively, are provided, and each cell constitutes a battery 42 of a cell 10 having an anode and an operation temperature at which the liquid eletrolyte melts. The partitioned chambers are separted by a solid electrolyte sheet separator 16 which is a conductor of ions of alkali metal, the casing includes a cathode cover 12 and an anode cover 14 which surround both sides of the separator, and the covers conduct electricity, but are insulated mutually and electrically, and form a cell terminal. The separator has a curved recessed anode side surface. The cathode cover is not comparatively easily bent and is apart from a cathode side surface of the separator. The anode cover is comparatively easily bent. The cell has almost no alkali metal in the anode partitioned chambers and has a complete discharging condition/excessive discharging condition in which it has a projection face where the anode cover enters a recessed face of the separator.
