    • A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for facilitating data transmission, such as full-rate data transmission, via a cooperative relay system. During a first time slot, a first source transmission may be received from a source node that includes data and associated parity check bits and a first relay transmission may be received from a first relay node that includes parity check bits associated with data from a prior source transmission. In a second time slot, a second source transmission may be received from the source node that includes data and associated parity check bits and a second relay transmission may be received from a second relay node that includes parity check bits associated with the data from the first source transmission. The data from the first source transmission may then be decoded at least partially based on the first source transmission and the second relay transmission.

    • Sounding Channel Apparatus and Method. According to an example embodiment, a method may include allocating, within a single physical resource unit (PRU), a plurality of channel sounding groups. Wherein each channel sounding group includes a frequency-time domain code division multiplexing (CDM) allocation. The method may also include broadcasting, in a downlink direction to one or more mobile stations in a wireless network, a signal that causes the receiving mobile stations to transmit a channel sounding signal. The method may further include receiving at least one channel sounding signal from at least one of the one or more mobile stations, the channel sounding signal being received in an uplink direction via one or more channel sounding groups. And, the method may include estimating the channel quality, of the channel used by the physical resource unit, based upon the received at least one channel sounding signal.

    • This invention relates to methods, software applications and software application products for positioning beacons (109-a .. 109-d; 602-1 .. 602-K) in a target area (100) of a location detection system (600), and to location detection systems themselves. Location areas (103-a .. 103-g) in said target area are associated with potential beacon positions (102-a .. 102-g) and are represented by vertices (106-a .. 106-g) of a graph (105), wherein reliable connectivity between location areas is represented by edges between vertices that represent said location areas. Said beacons are assigned to location areas of a subset of vertices of said graph, which subset represents a robust 1-identifying code. According to a first aspect of the invention, said graph is constrained to a regular topology to exploit availability of optimum or close-to-optimum t-edge-robust and t-vertex-robust 1-identifying codes for such regular topologies. According to a second aspect of the invention, a greedy search algorithm (400-425) is used to find a small subset of vertices representing t-vertex-robust 1-identifying codes.
