摘要： A touch fastener (10,10A,10B,10C) including an elongated base (20) having multiple segments (25) connected by articulable joints (40). Each segment (25) has an upper surface (22), a lower surface (24), and a plurality of touch fastener elements (100) extending from the lower surface (24) of the base (20). A flexible barrier (30) extends across at least one articulable joint (40) between adjacent base segments (25). The fastener (10,10A,10B,10C) may include a magnetically attractable material (60,60A,60B,60C,60D) disposed along a center region (26) of the upper surface (22) of the base (20). The fastener base (20) may define a pair of first and second notches (50) in opposite longitudinal edges of the base (20) at the articulable joint (40) to allow bending of the base (20). The base (20) may also define a slit (55) extending through the base (20) from a longitudinal edge thereof at the articulable joint (40).

摘要： Methods of forming a loop product are provided. Some methods include (a) introducing a sheet-form substrate (14) and a layer of polymeric fibers (12) into a needle loom (18), with the fibers disposed on a first surface of the substrate, and (b) needling the fibers through the substrate to form hook-engageable loop structures (48) of the fibers extending from a second surface of the substrate through holes (38) formed in the substrate by the needling. Needling the fibers includes piercing the substrate with a plurality of needles (34) while advancing the substrate in a machine direction at a predetermined speed, while cyclically advancing the needles in the machine direction, during piercing of the substrate, in a manner that causes the needles to travel in a substantially elliptical path, such that while the needles extend through the substrate the needles are moving in the machine direction.
