    • The collector (1) for the liquid phase of the working medium of an air-conditioning system has a collecting container (3) formed in one piece, suitable for the maximum operating pressure of a CO2 air-conditioning system, whose solid upper end wall (28) and thickened base region (29) are executed on the one hand for tight clamping of coupling blocks (33, 34) of the high-pressure piping system of the air-conditioning system and on the other hand for connecting a device for emergency emptying as a result of an airbag trigger. For improved separation of the liquid phase and its oil fraction in cooling mode of the air-conditioning system, flow through the upper region (10) of the collecting container (3) takes place in a constructively simple fashion in cyclone fashion starting from an inflow channel (18), whose outflow direction is tangential to the inner surface (17) of the collecting container (3) whereas the outflow from the collecting container (3) takes place via an end piece (9) of a piping system (6) arranged centrally in the collecting container (3). In addition, the collector (1) is also suitable for the heating mode of the air-conditioning system.
