    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-point fixed type seat belt air bag in which a seat belt having a first end portion attached at a floor and a second end portion wound into a retractor is passed through an insertion fixture, which is engaged with a buckle on the floor, and which has a knee portion and a body portion. SOLUTION: This seat belt airbag comprises a seat belt tube formed out of flexible woven fabric in a flat belt shape in a non-expanded condition. The expandable airbag member is accommodated in a woven fabric tube. The fiber tube is extended from a fixed end portion to the body portion of the seat belt through the insertion fixture. Part of the overall length of the airbag member is accommodated in reinforcement sleeves extended to the body portion. When the airbag is pressurized during operation of the airbag, the airbag member is expanded to such dimensions as to form a gas conduit in a range surrounded by the reinforcement sleeves, however, the reinforcement sleeves will not break off. On the other hand, the seat belt tube breaks off at the front portion than the opening end portion of the reinforcement sleeves of the airbag, and the airbag is expanded to the outer periphery of the airbag.     • An inflatable belt portion (104) is attached to a lap belt portion (112) by stitching, some of which becomes progressively detached to dissipate the forces imposed on the inflatable belt portion (104). The inflatable belt portion (104) is inflated by a hybrid inflator. The lap belt portion (112) tightens against an occupant's lap when the inflatable belt portion (104) is inflated. A coupling member (116) removably couples the lap belt portion (112) to a retainer (122) at the inner side of a seat (108). When the coupling member (116) is removed from the retainer (122), the lap belt portion (112) is wound on a retractor (124) so that the inflatable belt portion (104) is moved to an out-of-the-way position.

    • A fire suppression system for a substantially enclosed area comprises: a plurality of solid propellant aerosol generators disposed about the enclosed area for exhausting a fire suppressant aerosol that is substantially void of an ozone depleting material into the enclosed area. Each aerosol generator including an ignition element for igniting the solid propellant thereof. Each ignition element of the aerosol generators being coupled to a fire control unit which is operative to ignite the solid propellant of at least one aerosol generator utilizing the ignition element thereof to exhaust fire suppressant aerosol into the enclosed area. Each aerosol generator preferably includes a container which comprises: a housing including an orifice for exhausting the fire suppressant aerosol; a solid propellant disposed inside of the housing; at least one cover mounted to the housing to seal correspondingly at least one open side thereof; an ignition material coupled to the solid propellant for igniting the solid propellant to produce the fire suppressant aerosol; and at least one baffle disposed integral to the housing to capture non-usable effluent.
