摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer a gene to a target cell of vertebrate. SOLUTION: This method for transferring the gene to the cell comprises (a) a step for providing a fine projectile which carries a polynucleic acid sequence containing a control sequence functioning in an animal cell in the 5' to 3' direction, and a gene positioned at the downstream side of the control sequence and having controlled transcription, and (b) a step for projecting the obtained fine projectile to a previously selected animal cell so that the fine projectile may penetrate the animal cell and contact therewith at the speed sufficient for depositing the polynucleic acid sequence therein. The target cell to be transformed is preferably the cell present in an animal specimen, or a primary cell culture not having lost the properties possessed in the inside of the body of the animal. A preferable target cell is an epidermal cell or a hypodermal cell. A preferable gene to be transferred to the target cell is the gene encoding a protein or a peptide producing the physiological response in the animal specimen.

SOLUTION: The NO donor is administered at a therapeutically effective dose to a patient with a pathological condition including contraction or proliferation of smooth muscle or a cysteine-containing protein, or a patient with potentials of these risks, wherein the NO donor is insufficient to acutely lower the average arterial blood pressure or pulmonary arterial pressure at more than 10%. A related method for increasing the administration dose of the NO donor without acute decline of average arterial blood pressure includes a process of administration of the NO donor to the artery of the patient. In an another method, a therapeutically effective amount of a thiol is administered without acute influence on the blood pressure up to a significantly level to the patient with cardiovascular syndromes or their potentials.

A light receiving optical fiber 18 transmits the received light along the total length of the oxygen metabolism measuring device 10, and sends it to the optically coupling connectors 20 and a light detector 26.
